Stroll The Atolls

Stroll The Atolls is an annual community and family event that strives to create awareness of the Pacific Islanders and display the Marshallese Culture in the most interactive way possible. Activities and performances will be presented to provide a real-time experience with the audience. To provide the full scope of the culture and the livelihood on the islands and distinctive characteristics, booths will be available to provide educational information to the audience. Stroll The Atolls also shows the challenges and issues the Marshallese community in Arkansas is experiencing and how recent events such as COVID-19 Pandemic have impacted the community.

STROLL THE ATOLLS 2023

We are in preparation for Stroll The Atolls 2023 (STA 2023). ACOM is very excited about what will be happening on both days of Stroll The Atolls 2023! This year, we want to focus on Navigation and how Marshallese ancestors utilized their navigating skillset on our ocean. Leading up to this year, we wanted to provide educational presentations and stories about the Marshallese culture. STA 2023 will be a two-day event this year, including a Night Trail, Marshallese Culture & History Training, and the STA Festival. The event will happen on two separate days.

DAY 1: Night Trail- The Night Trail will take place on Friday, July 7th, 2023 at Crystal Bridges Museum from 5 pm-9 pm. The Night Trail is focused on educating our community about the Marshallese people and their rich history and culture. We will have cultural activities/booths for all ages including the elderly. Our goal, through our social media platforms, is to provide knowledge to all attendees and people all across the world. Come join us for a free and fun family night out.

Day 2: Festival- Our annual Stroll the Atolls festival will take place on Friday, July 29th, 2023 in Downtown Springdale at Shiloh Square from 10 am-9 pm. The festival will include vendors from all across the Pacific Ocean. Vendors will sell fresh cooked Island food, and handicrafts, perform traditional dances, and showcase cultural wear. Come and stroll through the festival and connect with each other’s cultures.
